The heart of Camp Doodle
Before there was a Camp Doodle, there was Copper.
Copper has been by my side for almost eight years, through more miles, hotel rooms, job sites, and life changes than most dogs ever see. He is not just the father of this litter. He is my road dog, my shadow, my best good friend, and one of the biggest reasons Camp Doodle means what it means.
When Copper was still just a pup, life tested him early. At only eight months old, he was hit by a car and spent three months with casts on his front legs. During that time, he had to be carried outside, helped through every little routine, and loved through every hard day. That experience changed the bond between us. Copper learned to trust completely, and I learned just how much heart one dog could have.
After he healed, Copper went everywhere with me. I traveled for contract work from state to state, often living out of hotels, and Copper was right there for all of it. He has seen more of this country than a lot of people have — long drives, new places, strange rooms, early mornings, late nights, and every kind of day in between. Through it all, he stayed steady, loyal, and happy just to be with his person.
That is the kind of dog Copper is. Calm. Patient. People-loving. Tough when he had to be, gentle when it mattered most, and loyal in a way you cannot teach.
Copper's legacy is about more than color or coat. What I hope every puppy carries from him is his trust, his sweetness, his steady nature, and that natural desire to stay close to the people they love.
Copper is the heart behind Camp Doodle. He has lived a big life, loved hard, and given us puppies that were raised around the kind of loyalty, patience, and companionship every family hopes to find in a dog.
